Heavyweight boxing fans may be in for a summer showdown as British contender Daniel Dubois is reportedly in advanced talks to face unified world champion Oleksandr Usyk this July at the iconic Wembley Stadium.
Sources close to the negotiations revealed that both camps are eager to finalize terms, with the bout potentially set for mid-to-late July. If confirmed, the fight would mark Usyk’s return to the ring following his undisputed victory over Tyson Fury, and a golden opportunity for Dubois to reclaim heavyweight glory after a rollercoaster stretch in his career.
Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs), known for his technical brilliance and movement, has become one of the most dominant forces in boxing. The Ukrainian holds the WBA, WBO, IBF, and Ring Magazine heavyweight titles, having successfully defended them in a historic run that has included wins over Anthony Joshua and Fury.
Dubois (20-2, 19 KOs), meanwhile, bounced back from his controversial loss to Usyk in 2023 with a string of convincing wins, reigniting calls for a rematch. At just 27, the London native remains one of the division’s most dangerous punchers, and a Wembley bout would not only give him home advantage but also a chance at redemption.
Promoter Frank Warren hinted at the possibility earlier this month, stating, “Daniel’s ready. He wants Usyk again, and the fans want to see it. Wembley would be electric.”
